Job summary

Nantucket Public Schools, Nantucket High School, is hiring a Nursing Teacher (1.0) to lead the new high school nursing program for the 2026-2027 year. Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree and MA DESE certification or eligibility for Voc Tech Teacher in Health/Medical Assisting.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: MA DESE Curriculum Frameworks (Healthcare Careers) and a Bachelor’s Degree or the ability to be certified as a Voc Tech Teacher in Health/Medical Assisting.
• Ideal Candidate: Experience in high school nursing programs, strong nursing content knowledge, and knowledge of differentiated instruction and RTI.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Provide content instruction according to MA DESE state standards.
• Create a classroom environment that promotes active learning for all students.
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support student success.
• Oversee internship placements as part of the nursing program.
