Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: MA DESE Curriculum Frameworks (Healthcare Careers) and a Bachelor’s Degree or the ability to be certified as a Voc Tech Teacher in Health/Medical Assisting.
• Ideal Candidate: Experience in high school nursing programs, strong nursing content knowledge, and knowledge of differentiated instruction and RTI.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Job Summary: Nantucket High School has an opening for [1] Nursing teacher to join our caring and innovative community for the 2026-2027 school year. Our ideal candidate is committed to growing our nursing education program, which includes three levels as well as overseeing internship placements. In the classroom, our candide is committed to differentiating instruction, keeping student voice at the center of instruction, and developing a classroom learning environment centered on inquiry.

Minimum Requirements: Knowledge of Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks (CTE Healthcare Career Cluster: Dental/Health/Medical Assisting) Bachelor’s Degree DESE MA certification or the ability to be certified as a Voc Tech Teacher in Health or Medical Assisting

Ideal Candidate: Experience in teaching within a high school nursing program, preferred Passion for teaching nursing Strong nursing content knowledge Knowledge about High School pedagogy and the developmental needs of students Ability to assess learning using a variety of methods Strong foundation in student-centered and culturally responsive pedagogy Knowledge of differentiated instruction and response to intervention Excellent classroom management skills SEI endorsement or willingness to complete the course at your own expense Ability to collaborate with teachers and administrators

Position Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,135 to $141,590 Per Year

Job Requirements

• Essential Functions: Provide content related instruction according to the MA DESE state standards Provide a classroom environment which promotes active learning for all students Partners with community members for the benefit of class instruction Exhibits knowledge of performance-based instruction Communicates well with parents and colleagues Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities.
• Ability to teach: First Aid to include but not limited to - Bleeding and wounds, shock, poisoning, burns, heat and cold exposure, bone and joint injuries, sudden illness such as heart attack, stroke, fainting, seizures, and diabetic reactions, applying dressings, bandages and splints, and use of the EPI Pen. Understanding of and ability to teach emergency care, nursing assistant skills, CNA certification, blood borne pathogens, medical terminology, infectious diseases, vaccines and herd immunity, PPE and workplace safety, medication safety, common chronic diseases, and basic assessment of neurological, cardiovascular, pulmonary, and musculoskeletal systems.
