Job summary

Intrepid College Prep in the Antioch area of Greater Nashville seeks a certified teacher to deliver a rigorous, college-preparatory curriculum and to support English learners and students with disabilities. You will collaborate with colleagues to ensure growth and equity for all students.

You will engage in ongoing professional development, contribute to a school culture of high expectations, and participate in after-school and community outreach as needed.

Qualifications

• Tennessee Certification in the appropriate content area, with a track record of data-driven achievement.
• BA/BS degree with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Minimum of two years teaching experience preferred in an urban public school or charter school.
• Degree in subject area intended to teach preferred, but not required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Internalize, accommodate, and execute the college-preparatory curriculum including daily lesson plans and unit plans.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure academic growth for EL students and students with disabilities.
• Utilize structured planning time and professional development opportunities to plan high-quality lessons.
• Engage in a community where teaching is public via visits, publication of curriculum, and feedback cycles.
• Share teaching strategies, visit peer classrooms, and analyze data to develop best practices.
• Maintain school-wide systems, structures, and procedures to support high expectations.
• Availability to participate in after-school programs and limited recruitment/community outreach events.
• Other school duties as assigned.
