Job summary

Swartz Creek Community School District is seeking a High School Math Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging mathematics instruction aligned with state standards and the district's Master Agreement.

Michigan-certified teachers in Grades 6-12 with a bachelor's degree and strong classroom management are preferred. The role includes involvement in extracurricular activities and collaboration with staff to improve instruction.

Qualifications

• Must hold Michigan teaching certificate and Mathematics (EX 6-12) certification.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
• Ability to deliver effective classroom instruction and management.
• Willingness to participate in extracurricular and co-curricular activities including staff/curriculum development.
• Excellent communication with students, parents and colleagues.

Salary: Per SCEA Master Agreement

Direct Supervisor: Building Principal

REQUIREMENTS

• Michigan Teacher Certificate
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
• Must be highly qualified and certified to teach in the State of Michigan and possess the necessary educational background and the Michigan teacher certification in Mathematics (EX 6-12)
• Must possess the ability to deliver effective classroom instruction and management
• Must possess a strong desire to work with students and their parents
• Must possess the willingness to participate in a variety of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities including staff and curriculum development
• Must possess a willingness to work as part of a building team for the improvement of instruction
• Must possess a willingness to adapt to continuous change
• Must possess excellent communication skills when engaging with students, parents, and colleagues
• Must possess a demonstrated mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of the position
• Punctual, regular, & consistent attendance is required.

PREFERRED

• Certification in 6-12 subject areas.
