Special Knowledge/Skills include knowledge of core academic subject, curriculum and instruction, ability to instruct students and manage behavior, and strong organizational/interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and reflect accommodations for differences among students.
Plan and use instructional strategies/materials/equipment for varied learning styles.
Assess student learning and use results to plan activities.
Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula per IEPs.
Plan and assign work to instructional aides and volunteers.
Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement and participate in extracurricular activities as assigned.
Maintain a positive role model and support district mission.
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and manage student behavior.
Establish professional communication with parents, students, colleagues, and community.
Participate in staff development and comply with policies; attend faculty meetings.
