High School Math Teacher 2026-2027 School Year (Geometry, Algebra I) Multiple Openings

This is an Incentive Eligible Position

Reports to: Building Principal

SALARY: Based on Teacher Salary Schedule

Responsibilities
  • Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects and communicates these objectives to students.
  • Demonstrates solid knowledge of methods, materials, and techniques used to teach mathematics at the secondary level.
  • Develops and presents lessons that demonstrate planning and preparation and are consistent with the district curriculum and state/national standards.
  • Implements curriculum content/objectives that will emphasize hands‑on, project‑based learning.
  • Embeds relevant technological resources.
  • Demonstrates appropriate long and short‑term preparation for classroom instruction.
  • Holds high expectations for all students and sees themselves as facilitators of student learning.
  • Organizes and uses a variety of teaching techniques, strategies, materials, and technology to maximize the learning of each child, individually and in group settings.
  • Assesses student progress, provides students and parents with specific feedback, and uses the results to adjust instruction as needed.
  • Provides opportunities for academic support and challenge.
  • Takes responsibility for teaching the district curriculum as outlined in the curriculum documents.
  • Keeps abreast of current development in their fields and continues to deepen their understanding of their disciplines.
  • Establishes and maintains a functional, attractive, orderly, and safe classroom environment that is conducive to student learning and builds a sense of community.
  • Assumes responsibility for the effective functioning of the school to include necessary noninstructional assignments and student management throughout the entire building.
  • Maintains complete records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  • Contributes to school effectiveness by collaborating with other professionals and participating in school and district activities, such as staff meetings, parent‑teacher conferences, teacher training workshops and serving on building and district committees.
  • Attends meetings and activities outside the normal school day, i.e., professional development activities, parent conferences, open houses and staff meetings.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.
