Job summary

Bond Health is seeking a dynamic High School Mathematics Teacher (Algebra/Geometry) for grades 9–11, specializing in Algebra I, II and Geometry, to foster academic excellence in an urban charter school.

The ideal candidate will plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction, use data to guide differentiation, collaborate with colleagues and families, and participate in ongoing professional development to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or related field.
• New York State teaching certification in Mathematics (7-12).
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an urban school setting.
• Strong content knowledge in Algebra and Geometry.
• Demonstrated success in raising student achievement.
• Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging mathematics instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards and Common Core Standards for Algebra and Geometry.
• Create and maintain a positive, structured learning environment that supports all students' academic and social-emotional development.
• Develop and implement rigorous lesson plans that incorporate diverse teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
• Use data-driven instruction to assess student progress and modify teaching methods accordingly.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff members to ensure consistent curriculum delivery and share best practices.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and department meetings.
• Support school-wide initiatives and contribute to the school community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging mathematics instruction aligned with New York State Learning Standards and Common Core Standards for Algebra and Geometry

• Develop and implement rigorous lesson plans that incorporate diverse teaching strategies and differentiated instruction

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mathematics Education or related field
• Experience working in a charter school environment
• Familiarity with various mathematics curricula and assessment tools
• Knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices
• Experience with project-based learning
• Bilingual skills (Spanish) a plus
