Job summary

Pinecrest Academy in Georgia is seeking an experienced High School Math teacher to serve as a long-term substitute for the 2026-2027 school year. The substitute will cover the lead teacher’s classes and standard duties during the absence.

The substitute will deliver the designated curriculum, maintain classroom expectations, and communicate student progress to school staff. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; license is not required but considered for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• A license is not required but preference is given to those eligible for, or in possession of, approved Georgia Teaching License in the subject (calculus/statistics, etc).
• Familiarity with the subject being taught.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and methodologies of effective teaching.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, & the public.

Responsibilities

• Teaches content and skills in the subject area utilizing curriculum designated by Pinecrest Academy and other appropriate learning activities.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
• Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve learning, health, and attitude problems.
• Communicates with the teacher(s) and school counselors on student progress or issues.
• Supervises students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day.
• Reports to HS Principal.

Pinecrest Academy is currently seeking resumes from an experienced High School Math teacher for a long-term substitute assignment beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.

Position Overview

The math substitute teacher is responsible for providing classroom coverage as the lead teacher. The substitute works the regular hours of the absent classroom teacher including but not limited to lunch, carpool, aftercare duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
