Job summary

Abington Heights School District is seeking an Anticipated Masonry LTS for the High School to teach Masonry (Grades 7-12). Immediate opening with a BS degree and PA teaching certification preferred. Step 1 salary is listed; prorated for the 26-27 school year.

The role requires masonry experience, classroom leadership, and ability to align curriculum with NOCTI competencies while promoting safe, professional teaching practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with formal Masonry training.
• Minimum of four years full-time Masonry experience.
• Must possess or be willing to attain PA teaching certification (Mason/Masonry CIP 46.0101).

Responsibilities

• Establish standards for classroom behavior and safety that support the school's discipline and safety programs (OSHA).
• Identify curriculum content by specifying competencies that align with NOCTI.
• Plan lessons for each competency with clear performance standards and learning steps.
• Communicate, promote, and support instructional practices and learning of all students.
• Maintain technological and instructional skills through professional development.
• Participate in a professional community and the Technology Education Department.
• Communicate with administration, parents, and staff regarding student progress.
• Create a classroom environment promoting professionalism and empathy.
• Prepare students to enter the workforce and earn wages commensurate with union invitations.
