Job summary

The Maricopa County Community College District seeks a Learning Assistant - HS Classroom Aide to support the special education classroom, assist with lesson prep, data collection, and tutoring, using Google Docs, IXL, and Infinite Campus as core tools.

The role requires collaboration with GWECHS staff, a Monday–Friday schedule (7:45am–3:30pm) with some evenings or weekends, and a specially-funded assignment through 06/30/2026.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate's degree or higher preferred.
• Experience mentoring high school students.
• Experience tutoring in multiple subjects.
• Experience using Google Suite, Canvas LMS, and online tutoring systems for K-12.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning assistance, skills development, and tutoring for all high school content (50%).
• Assist students in completing assignments in IXL and Canvas (20%).
• Monitor and maintain student folders, progress information, and related records (10%).
• Explain grammar, syntax, and vocabulary to students (10%).
• Perform other duties as assigned (10%).
