Job summary

KIPP New Jersey is seeking a High School Lead Teacher to mold future leaders across ELA, History, Science, College and Career Readiness, and enrichment areas. You will create lesson plans, analyze data to drive mastery, and partner with families to support student progress in a high-performing charter network in Newark.

The role emphasizes relationship-building, data-informed instruction, rigorous classroom management, and participation in meetings and events across the school community.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid teaching certification in NJ –or–
• GPA requirements: ≥3.0 (post-2016) or 2.75–3.0 with Praxis
• GPA requirement for pre-2016 graduates: ≥2.75

Responsibilities

• Create, internalize, modify and prepare lesson plans aligned with curriculum with grade-level team
• Use data to responsively teach to mastery of skills
• Collaborate with students, families and colleagues to support progress
• Uphold classroom management techniques and maintain a positive learning environment
• Assist with diagnostic and progress monitoring testing
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet objectives
• Update student performance trackers and guide lesson planning
• Participate in school, departmental and parent meetings
• Participate in school events and activities
