Job summary

Faribault Public Schools seeks a full-time 1.0 FTE Long Term Substitute Language Arts Teacher for Faribault High School. The role runs from 10/5/2026 to 12/22/2026, teaching five high school Language Arts courses in a supportive environment.

The ideal candidate will create engaging lessons, maintain professional standards, and collaborate with EL and special education staff to support student growth. Minnesota licensure in Language Arts is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to build strong, positive relationships with families and students.
• Must be able to recognize Communication Arts/Literature Standards and how to build standards-based lessons.
• Should be comfortable using 1:1 technology and maintaining a positive, professional culture in accordance with School Board policies.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials providing effective teaching strategies adhering to the District philosophy and vision.
• Creates a classroom environment that responds to the needs of individual learners.
• Plans and implements a program of study designed to meet individual students needs.
• Evaluates accomplishments of students on a regular basis using multiple assessment methods.
• Communicates with parents in a timely manner; maintains positive and constructive communication with students, staff, parents and community.
• Works cooperatively with parents and other staff members to reinforce the educational program for each child.
