Job summary

Frontier Central School District is seeking an In-School Suspension (ISS) Teaching Assistant to provide academic and behavioral support while students complete assigned work. The role works with the Assistant Principal, teachers, counselors, and support staff to keep students engaged and progressing academically during disciplinary assignments.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Experience supporting MTSS-based accountability lessons is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support students assigned to In-School Suspension.
• Reinforce lessons and assignments provided by classroom teachers.
• Assist students with academic tasks and monitor completion of coursework.
• Facilitate MTSS-based accountability lessons focused on reflection, decision-making, self-regulation, and behavioral growth.
• Collaborate with the Assistant Principal and teachers to coordinate instruction and student support.
• Maintain a structured learning environment that promotes appropriate behavior and engagement.
• Monitor student engagement and communicate concerns and progress to staff.
• Support the implementation of behavioral and academic interventions within MTSS.
• Maintain attendance records and documentation on behavior and progress as needed.
• Foster positive relationships with students and assist with reintegration into regular classes.
