Job summary

The successful candidate will guide PLCs/PLTs, align with district priorities, and foster continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• Hold or be eligible for Virginia license with a middle school or high school endorsement.
• Pursuing Virginia Postgraduate Professional license (Master’s) or equivalent; master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5 years teaching at middle or secondary level; instructional coaching experience preferred.
• National Board Certification or Virginia endorsements for Teacher Leader/Mentor may substitute for some experience.
• Demonstrated ability to implement evidence-based instructional practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular coaching cycles aligned to the Impact Cycle with teachers to set goals and support reflection.
• Model and promote effective instructional strategies via targeted professional learning.
• Conduct instructional learning walks and collect data to discuss and support refinement of practices.
• Organize model classroom visits with pre/post conferences and follow-up action steps.
• Mentor teachers to employ engaging, evidence-based strategies for diverse learners.
• Assist teachers in providing rigorous, relevant, and engaging learning experiences.
