Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in secondary education or subject taught; master's preferred.
• Professional license in education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out lessons in the subject taught.
• Select and use a variety of learning resources and technology to effectively reach all students
• Implement differentiated instruction techniques to meet diverse needs of students
• Develop and maintain curriculum maps and submit lesson plans to department chair as directed
• Assess students to evaluate abilities, strengths and weaknesses
• Communicate areas of concern to parents in a timely manner
• Maintain regular and professional communication with parents concerning student progress
• Teach students as an entire class or in small groups
• Prepare students for standardized tests required by the state
• Develop and enforce classroom rules
• Monitor environment to ensure cleanliness and safety
• Assist in school celebrations, activities, contests, and formation programs
• Work with department chair and high school administration to form a positive school culture
