Job summary

Sarasota County Schools is seeking a Certified School Counselor to work at Sarasota High School. The role entails 7.5 hours per day within a 10-month contract, applying counseling skills to student testing, scheduling, and personal/group guidance while aligning with district policies.

Responsibilities include assisting with special needs under LRE/IEP/504, advocating for students, and contributing to the development of master schedules and program planning at the high school level.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree from an accredited educational institution.
• Certification in Guidance and Counseling.
• Successful experience as a teacher or counselor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to students through testing and interpretation.
• Provide assistance to students in class selection and schedules.
• Provide personal counseling to students.
• Provide group counseling when need arises.
• Assist students with special needs according to LRE, IEP and 504 guidelines.
• Serve as an advocate for students.
• Follow all School Board policies, rules and regulations.
