Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 is seeking a High School Assistant Coach to support the athletic program under the supervision of the Head Coach. The role involves organizing practices, coaching students, and coordinating with the athletic department to ensure eligibility and safety.

The successful candidate will assist with game scheduling, off-season planning, and maintaining equipment and records. A valid ASEP or Illinois teaching certificate and First Aid/CPR/AED are required.

Qualifications

• ASEP certification or IL teaching certificate required.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
• IHSA tests completion may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach with program organization and administration.
• Help develop game and practice schedules in coordination with head coach.
• Ensure participant registration and eligibility in collaboration with athletic secretary.
• Promote safety, conditioning, and sportsmanship during practices and contests.
• Maintain equipment, facilities, inventory, and records for the program.
• Represent the program in meetings with parents, students, and community partners.
• Support fundraising activities and maintain financial records per district policy.
