Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 is seeking a High School Assistant Coach to assist the head coach with organizing the program, conducting practices, motivating students, and teaching game strategies and techniques.

The role involves coordinating schedules, equipment, and communications with the head coach, athletic secretary, and students to ensure eligibility, discipline, and safe practices across in-season and off-season periods.

Qualifications

• Certification with American Sport Education Program and/or Illinois teaching certificate.
• Pass IHSA required tests and view videos.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach with organization of the program and practices.
• Develop game schedules, practices, and equipment management.
• Ensure safety, discipline, and academic eligibility of student-athletes.
