Job summary

Illinois School District U-46 is seeking a High School Assistant Coach to support the head coach in organizing the program, conducting practices, and motivating student athletes. The role emphasizes safety, discipline, and teamwork while coordinating schedules and inventory.

The position requires certification through the American Sport Education Program and/or an Illinois Teaching certificate, IHSA test completion, and First Aid/CPR/AED.

Responsibilities

• Organize and oversee program levels and areas of responsibility.
• Assist head coach with practices, game strategies, and student motivation.
• Ensure players are registered, eligible, and properly supervised during activities.
• Develop game and practice schedules, facilities use, transportation, and program budget.
• Maintain safe facilities and equipment; communicate with administration and community.
