Job summary

Wilson County Schools seeks a dedicated Secondary Teacher (7-12) to provide high-quality, standards-aligned instruction for grades 9–12 in the assigned subject area. The role emphasizes student growth, college and career readiness, and a safe, respectful learning environment.

The teacher will collaborate with students, families, and staff; assess progress; and support wellbeing in alignment with Tennessee law, district policies, and graduation requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Tennessee educator license with endorsement(s) for grades 9-12.
• Knowledge of Tennessee Academic Standards and high school curriculum.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate with students, families, colleagues, and administrators.
• Meets essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction aligned with Tennessee standards and district curriculum.
• Develop standards-aligned units, lessons, and assessments for grades 9-12.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and provide supports.
• Monitor progress with formative and summative assessments and communicate results to families.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and documentation; ensure safety and discipline.
