Qualifications

• VT educator license with K-12 ELL endorsement (or eligible)
• Experience teaching multilingual learners at the secondary level

Responsibilities

• Build trust and establish authentic, culturally responsive communication channels with non-English speaking families, ensuring they are active partners in their student's high school journey.
• Plan and teach English language development classes for multilingual learners at varying levels of proficiency, using standards-aligned instruction to strengthen students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
• Partner proactively with high school content-area teachers to co-plan, differentiate instruction, and scaffold complex academic material for English Learners across all disciplines.
• Serve as a dependable, engaged member of the school’s EL team by participating in team meetings, shared planning, progress monitoring, case consultation, and coordinated problem-solving to provide consistent services and support for multilingual learners.
• Design and deliver instruction that honors and leverages the diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds of a broad spectrum of student populations.
• Serve as a collaborative liaison and resource within the building, advocating for EL student needs while helping colleagues implement effective language acquisition strategies.
