Tutor Partners LLC is seeking an experienced high school English Language Arts tutor to provide in-person tutoring at a juvenile court school site in Los Angeles County. The role is part-time, with a Monday–Friday morning schedule and a pay rate of $20–$30 per hour.

The ideal candidate will have at least an associate degree or 24 college credits, 1 year of relevant experience with grades 6–12, and strong ELA content knowledge. Experience with English Learners and background clearances are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 24 college credits required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with students in grades 6–12; juvenile justice or alternative education background a plus.
• Strong content knowledge in high school ELA, including reading comprehension, writing, and grammar.
• Experience supporting English Learners (EL) is a plus.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to pass required background clearances (e.g., LiveScan/fingerprinting) as required by LACOE.

Responsabilités

• Provide small-group and push-in ELA support aligned to student needs during the school day, including reading, writing, and English language development.
• Track and report student progress.
• Participate in instructional planning with teachers and school leaders, administration of assessments, and coordination meetings.
• Collaborate with Tutor Partners staff and site personnel to coordinate scheduling and materials.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional learning environment.

Position Overview

Tutor Partners is seeking an experienced, qualified high school English Language Arts (ELA) tutor to provide in-person tutoring services in partnership with the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) at Camp Glenn Rockey, one of its Juvenile Court Schools. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a direct academic impact with students in a specialized educational setting.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm, now through the end of the 2026-27 School Year

Pay Rate

$20-30 per hour

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or minimum of 24 college credits required; Bachelor's degree preferred
