Job summary

KIPP Philadelphia Public Schools (KPPS) seeks a High School ELA Teacher to deliver rigorous instruction in reading, writing, and critical thinking, while fostering a classroom culture where all students feel affirmed, supported, and challenged.

You will analyze student work, collaborate with colleagues, engage in coaching and professional development, communicate with families, and uphold KPPS values of Children First, Cultural Competence, Ownership, and Community.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of full-time ELA teaching experience in an urban setting (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• PA State certification Level I or II preferred; if uncertified, must enroll in PA-approved program within one year of hire.
• Criminal and child abuse background checks required: PA State Police, PA Child Abuse Clearance, Cogent Federal Fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver rigorous ELA instruction and cultivate a classroom culture where all students feel affirmed, supported, and challenged.
• Analyze student work and data to inform instruction; communicate with families; collaborate with colleagues; engage in coaching and professional development.
