POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about educating all students to succeed in college and who want to contribute to a dynamic school environment that has a strong record of academic Success.
EXPECTATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily And Weekly Expectations:
- Instruction: Teach 3-5 classes daily in a rotating schedule (depending on subject area; class lengths may vary).
- Planning & Development: Plan lessons and instruction; assess student work; collaborate with team teachers on curriculum and assessment; participate in reflective practice and professional development.
- Discipline / Classroom Management: Follow the school's prescribed discipline, classroom management, and routines to ensure a consistent environment across the school for all students.
- Online Gradebook: Maintain an up-to-date online gradebook with information on class syllabus, homework, and unit plans to facilitate communication with students and families.
- Daily Team Meetings: Participate in grade level and discipline-based team meetings to identify struggling students, improve school culture, and integrate curriculum.
- Student Meetings: Attend IEP, 504, and other family meetings as needed.
- Additional Duties: Monitor breakfast, lunch, hallways; provide co-teaching and substitute coverage; lead extracurricular activities, advisories, or academic support.
Annual Expectations:
- Participate in teacher residency training and professional development in August.
- Teach from late August to mid/end June, following the district's holiday schedule.
- Participate in monthly professional development days.
- Observe and share best practices with colleagues.
- Proctor exams like MCAS, PSAT, AP, ensuring exam integrity.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Commitment to fostering a supportive environment that values diversity and inclusivity.
- Success in collaborative teaching, managing diverse classrooms, and facilitating performance-based learning.
- BA/BS required; MA/MS preferred. Must be highly qualified via MTEL; SEI Endorsement where appropriate.
- At least two years of classroom experience or equivalent, with experience in multi-tiered support systems.
