Job summary

School District of DeSoto County at DeSoto High School in Arcadia, Florida, seeks a Custodian to maintain cleanliness, safety and operations of the school facility. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, custodial and grounds services for safety and appearance.
• Operate and maintain equipment in a safe manner.
• Assist immediate supervisor in identifying needs relating to custodial, maintenance and safety issues.
• Provide for the opening and/or securing of the facility as assigned.
• Assist with lifting or moving heavy objects.
• Utilize effective cleaning techniques.
• Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage of flammable materials and disposal of trash.
• Assist with grounds maintenance as required.
• Meet and deal effectively with staff, students and others using tact and good judgment.
• Follow attendance and punctuality standards; maintain safety.
• Model high ethical standards and participate in trainings.
