Job summary

Bermudian Springs School District is seeking a Custodian at Bermudian Springs High School. The position runs term hours from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm for 180+ days, with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch, and summer hours from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm for 81+ days with a lunch break.

No prior experience is required as training is provided; candidates should be able to perform heavy cleaning tasks, operate cleaning equipment, and work well in a team under supervision.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or maintenance experience is helpful, but training is provided.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for long periods.
• Good communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform heavy-duty cleaning, sweeping, mopping and disinfecting restrooms.
• Maintain cleanliness of facilities and equipment per district procedures.
• Handle refuse and recycling; assist with basic facility upkeep.
• Work well in a team and follow directions from supervisors.

Custodian Position

School term hours - 2:30 pm-11:00 pm for 180 plus days (with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)

Summer hours - 6:00 am-2:30 pmfor 81 plus days (with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)

Job Description:

• Person must be able to perform repetitive motions, including standing, walking, and bending, for up to 8 hours per day


• A person possesses good communication and time management skills


• A person should be self-motivated and task-oriented, who works well with team concepts


• Duties include but are not limited to: heavy-duty cleaning, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and disinfecting restrooms, supply facilities, dust, windows, and other duties described in our district cleaning procedure handbook


• A person should be able to mix cleaning solutions in preparation for cleaning according to instructions


• Gather trash and recyclables


• Experience is great, but not necessary; we will train


• We pair our new team members with experienced teams to train and introduce them to our style of cleaning

Pay Range:

$15.80 - $16.30 based on experience. An additional $.40 will be paid when second shift hours are worked.
