Job summary

Floyd Central High School in Floyds Knobs, IN is hiring a Credit Recovery Instructional Assistant to support high school students with credit recovery and GED preparation. You will supervise students, assist teachers, and help maintain attendance and grades as part of the instructional team.

Starting immediately, this full‑time hourly role requires at least a high school/trade level education preferred, citizenship/residency or work authorization, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent paraprofessional experience.
• Proficiency with internet searches and email.
• Ability to sit, reach with hands and arms; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide credit recovery assistance and GED preparation to students.
• Supervise and monitor students designated to Credit Recovery.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors and students to complete coursework.
• Assist teacher in constructing and implementing lessons.
• Collect and monitor student information and attendance.
• Maintain attendance and grade data for reports.
• Support program activities and seek ongoing improvement.
• Answer phones and assist with home calls.
• Address behavior issues as they arise.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
