Job summary

Texans Can Academies is seeking a School Counselor to develop and implement a comprehensive guidance program for grades 9-12. The counselor will align transcripts, schedules, and four-year plans with graduation requirements and state testing needs.

The role requires a Master’s in guidance counseling, appropriate Texas certification (or eligibility to obtain within 1 year), and at least 2 years of high school counseling experience. Collaboration with school leaders and families is essential.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in guidance counseling is required.
  • Texas certification as a Counselor or eligibility to obtain Texas certification within one year.
  • At least 2 years high school counseling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive guidance program for grades 9-12.
  • Audit and evaluate transcripts and four-year plans.
  • Schedule students and manage master schedules with accuracy.
  • Assist with state testing rosters and graduation requirements.
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions and guidance.
  • Collaborate with staff, parents, and administration to support student success.
