Job summary

Paw Paw Public Schools is seeking a full-time High School Counselor for grades 9-12 at Paw Paw High School. The counselor will work with a team to provide comprehensive counseling services for 675 students, including academic, career, and personal counseling. Responsibilities include coordinating support services, engaging with at-risk students, advising on graduation requirements, and facilitating social emotional learning. A valid School Counselor License or relevant teaching certificate is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of a team of three counselors and one mental health clinician providing comprehensive counseling services to 675 students in grades 9-12, including academic, career, college and personal counseling.
• Maintain referral system, coordinate existing educational support services and communicate with parents.
• Work with building and ancillary staff dealing with at‑risk students and students with special needs/504 plans/IEPs.
• Counsel students about graduation requirements, audit and maintain transcript records, and work with students to create 4‑year academic plans.
• Work alongside teaching staff to implement Social Emotional Learning curriculum.
