Haslett Public Schools seeks a dedicated Middle School Counselor for Haslett Middle School to support a diverse student body with guidance services.

The role emphasizes implementing Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling, delivering individual and group counseling, coordinating with families and community resources, and participating in the building leadership team while monitoring 504 plans and student progress.

Qualifications

• Licensed master's level professional counselor degree or equivalent supervised licensure.
• Experience with scheduling in Skyward or similar software.
• Experience in personal and crisis counseling settings.
• Familiarity with 504 plans, attendance interventions, and alternative education options.
• Proven guidance counseling experience and/or teaching background.

Responsibilities

• Implement Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling in middle school classrooms.
• Provide group and individual guidance and counseling for students.
• Connect families with community resources and supports.
• Actively participate in the building leadership team.

LOCATION: Haslett Middle School

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed master’s level professional counselor degree OR a limited licensed master’s level professional counselor (will work under the supervision of a licensed master’s level professional counselor)
• Experience in scheduling using Skyward or a similar program
• Experience in personal and crisis counseling.
• Experience with 504 plans, attendance interventions, and alternative education pathways
• Successful previous guidance counseling experience and/or teaching experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling in middle school classrooms
• Provide Group and individual guidance and counseling for individuals and small groups
• Connect families with community resources and supports
• Actively participate in the building leadership team
• Evaluate, write, and monitor 504 plans for students
