Job summary

Phoenix Union High School District No. 210 is seeking a Classroom Teacher to provide high-quality instruction in a 9-month calendar. The teacher will create a safe, intellectually challenging learning environment and engage students actively in meaningful activities.

You will use knowledge of adolescent development and content area expertise to educate a diverse student population, while collaborating with parents, colleagues, and the community to support student learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and Arizona secondary teaching credential.
• Ability to support a diverse student population.
• Knowledge of adolescent development and instructional best practices.
• Willingness to participate in staff development and EE.I.E. training.

Responsibilities

• Designs, plans, and provides instruction using a variety of methods and resources for all learners.
• Creates and maintains a positive learning environment.
• Assesses student learning using formal and informal methods.
• Keeps and maintains required records.
• Communicates regularly with parents regarding student progress.
• Collaborates with colleagues, parents, the community, and other agencies to foster student learning.
• Connects academic knowledge to real-life situations.

• Performs other duties stated in Board policies and state statutes.
