Job summary

Sussex Academy Charter School seeks a Head Cheerleading Coach for the 2026-2027 school year at Sussex Academy Secondary School. The position is casual/seasonal and reports to the Athletic Director.

Candidates should have prior coaching experience and familiarity with DIAA rules; CPR and concussion protocol training, or willingness to obtain, are required. Responsibilities include coordinating practice plans and game strategies with assistant coaches, ensuring safety, maintaining equipment

Qualifications

• Prior coaching experience preferred.
• Familiarity with DIAA rules, regulations, procedures and policies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with assistant coaches in regards to roles, duties and expectations.
• Works collaboratively with coaches to implement organized practice plans and game strategies.
• Helps oversee the safety conditions of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted at all times that students are present.
• Responsible for adherence to all HAC, DIAA, and school rules, regulations, and policies.
• Prepares detailed inventory of team equipment and updates inventory after each session.
• Maintains and updates team and individual records.
• Follow and practice Sussex Academy's Mindful Coach Profile.
• Performs other duties as assigned that relate to this position.
