Job summary

Bright Star Schools is seeking a qualified Cheer Coach for Rise Kohyang High School in Los Angeles, CA. The role leads the entire cheer program, including tryouts, practices, and game-day preparation, with a focus on athletic excellence, teamwork, and school spirit.

The coach will supervise practices, attend games, and ensure safety and compliance with CIF rules. This position requires relevant coaching certifications and prior high school or club cheer experience.

Qualifications

• All CIF and NFHS coaching certifications required, including CPR/First Aid and concussion training.
• Background clearance and TB clearance completed before employment.
• Experience coaching high school or club cheer preferred.
• Ability to supervise and plan practices, games, and travel while ensuring safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the cheer program including tryouts, team selection, practice planning, choreography, and game-day prep.
• Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, school spirit, and athletic excellence while maintaining safety and inclusion.
• Attend practices and supervise home games and team events; travel with the team as needed and ensure CIF compliance.
• Communicate with students, parents, and school staff via ParentSquare; prioritize health and well-being.
