Job summary

Bridgeport Public Schools is seeking a Cheerleading Coach at Harding High School for the 2026-2027 school year. The role includes organizing practices, coordinating tryouts, and teaching routines while ensuring student safety and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities include supervising games and camps, collaborating with the Athletic Director, and maintaining proper records. A CT coaching or teaching certificate, First Aid and CPR, plus concussion training are required; three years of coaching

Qualifications

• Experience working with high school students.
• Knowledge of coaching methods and safety procedures.
• Good communication and supervision skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize and run effective warm up, practices and games.
• Attend tryouts, practices, games, competitions, and cheer camp.
• Assess skills and assign team positions.
• Maintain a regular practice schedule with the Athletic Director.
• Create, teach routines and coach cheerleaders on rules and techniques.
• Observe and provide feedback during events and practices.
• Supervise students with professional conduct and safety.
• Keep records and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Engage with parents/guardians as needed.
• Ensure CPR and First Aid readiness.
