Job summary

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in a related field as required.
• Valid Virginia Department of Education license or eligibility with a Trade & Industry endorsement.
• Endorsement in a selected trade and industrial education area preferred.
• Evidence of occupational experience in teaching area within last five years or related program.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom work to address individualized learning plans.
• Administer assessments to measure student progress.
• Advise parents/guardians on student progress and goals.
• Collaborate with staff and community resources to support student outcomes.
• Counsel students on performance and personal development.
• Direct assistants and volunteers to support classroom program.
• Instruct students to improve academic and daily living skills.
• Manage student behavior to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Prepare written materials to document progress.
• Report incidents to maintain student safety and comply with policies.
