Purpose:

Momence CUSD #1 is seeking an innovative educator to help shape the future of Career and Technical Education. Rather than filling a single predefined program, we are seeking the right educator and are open to developing programming around the successful candidate's expertise. Applicants with backgrounds in any career development pathway are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be a student-centered individual with a passion for developing and implementing engaging, hands‑on programming for students in grades 9-12.

Essential Job Functions:


  • Develop curriculum maps, pacing guides, lesson plans, and assessments aligned to state standards and Career and Technical Education frameworks.
  • Design and deliver rigorous, hands‑on instruction that prepares students for postsecondary education, careers, industry credentials, and workforce readiness.
  • Develop and maintain a high‑interest program that reflects student interests and local workforce needs.
  • Utilize project‑based learning, authentic assessments, technology, and real‑world applications to engage students.
  • Foster partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, colleges, and industry professionals when appropriate.
  • Explore opportunities for dual credit, work‑based learning, internships, career exploration, and industry certifications.
  • Maintain safe classroom, laboratory, and/or shop environments in accordance with applicable safety standards.
  • Employ a variety of instructional strategies, instructional media, and performance assessments that support student learning.
  • Use technology to promote learning, creativity, collaboration, and career readiness.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities.
  • Assist in evaluating and improving curriculum and programming to ensure alignment with student needs and workforce trends.
  • Create a positive classroom culture where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required reports in a timely manner.
  • Participate in student support meetings, professional learning communities, and district initiatives.
  • Maintain instructional materials, equipment inventories, and supply requests necessary to support student learning.
  • Meet professional responsibilities through effective planning, organization, collaboration, and timely completion of assigned duties.
  • Follow all district policies and the District's teacher job description.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by district and/or building administration.

Terms of Employment:

As determined by the MEA Collective Bargaining Agreement

Salary determined based on MEA Collective Bargaining Agreement ($42,020 - $84,739)

Position Type: Full‑Time

Salary: $42,020 to $84,739 Per Year
