Job summary

Vaughn Next Century Learning Center in Los Angeles area seeks a Campus Security Assistant for its high school campus. The role involves guarding assigned areas, patrolling grounds, and enforcing campus rules to maintain a safe environment for students and staff.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, SB 1626 training (or able to obtain within 60 days), and current First Aid/CPR certification (or able to obtain within 60 days). Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• SB 1626 School Security Officer Training completion (or within 60 days).
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (or within 60 days).
• 1+ year experience with high school–aged students or security services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Guard assigned area and protect property by patrolling.
• Inspect security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Monitor campus access and report unauthorized persons.
• Investigate and report incidents or emergencies.
• Prepare incident reports on crimes or offenses.
• Intervene with disruptive student behavior when needed.
• Possibly detain students when appropriate and manage traffic/parking.
