Job summary

Kern High School District is seeking a Campus Security staff member to supervise students on and around Bakersfield High School, enforce student conduct policies, and assist in maintaining school safety. The role requires effective communication, tact, and the ability to manage student interactions in a dynamic school environment.

Applicants must meet SB 1626 security guard training requirements, possess a valid California driver’s license, and be prepared for a pre-employment medical assessment

Qualifications

• Knowledge of approved techniques and methods of youth supervision and correct English usage, grammar and punctuation.
• Ability to read and write at a level necessary to perform duties; understand and carry out verbal and written instructions; relate well with students.
• Ability to analyze situations, exercise tact and good judgment when dealing with students; establish effective work relationships.
• Must provide proof of SB 1626 school security guard training with application.
• Three years of responsible experience involving youth work, preferably in a high school setting.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision assists in the supervision of students on school grounds, parking lot, and areas adjacent to the school to ensure proper conduct and maximum class attendance.
• Enforce school rules and regulations pertaining to student behavior, order and conduct.
