Job summary

Poudre School District is seeking a Head Coach for a high school athletic team. You will lead the program, teach fundamentals and advanced skills, and coordinate coaches, practices, and administrative duties according to CHSAA and district guidelines.

Responsibilities include supervising practices and games, ensuring student safety, communicating expectations to athletes and parents, and managing equipment, budget and eligibility tracking for all levels of the sport.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required before coaching assignment begins.
• Complete required trainings upon hire: Concussion, Blood Borne Pathogens, Child Abuse and Reporting, and Sexual Harassment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, organize and lead practice sessions to develop sport skills and sportsmanship.
• Supervise student athletes before, during, and after events; ensure safety.
• Head coach for all levels: C-team, JV, Varsity.
• Supervise assistant coaches and volunteers.
• Attend and monitor practices and games.
• Communicate expectations to athletes and parents about practice, games, and academics.
• Handle inventory, budget, transport, certifications, and eligibility tracking.
• Follow CHSAA and Poudre School District guidelines.
• Coordinate with Athletic Director on budget, transport, equipment, and schedules.
• Set practice schedules, locations, times, and team size; maintain equipment and facilities.
• Demonstrate fairness and consistency; attend required trainings and meetings.
