Job summary

East Harlem Scholars Academies, part of East Harlem Tutorial Program (EHTP), seeks a High School Biology Teacher to deliver engaging biology instruction and drive student achievement. You will work with grade teams and the instructional leadership team to implement curricula, assess progress, and support diverse learners.

A strong commitment to equity and professional growth is essential. You will collaborate on curriculum development, manage IEPs, and help build a positive, inclusive school

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ experience in educational positions teaching science (biology preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher and NYS teaching certification for the subject/discipline (required).
• Ability to speak, write, and understand Spanish fluently (preferred).
• Demonstrated commitment to high professional and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

• Teach high school biology to students; student-facing most of the day.
• Collaborate with grade team and instructional leadership to internalize and develop curriculum.
• Provide high-quality instruction and track student progress, including IEPs.
• Foster a positive classroom culture and engage in reflection and continuous improvement.
