Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include coaching experience at high school or competitive youth level.
• Valid Florida teaching certificate or valid Department of Education athletic coaching certificate.
• Valid FHSAA certification.
• Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate (AHA/Red Cross).
• Any appropriate combination of education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct regular practice sessions.
• Develop and implement game strategies and tactics.
• Teach fundamental skills, techniques, and sports rules to student-athletes.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and school-sponsored trips.
• Monitor academic progress and support students balancing athletics and academics.
• Promote discipline, responsibility, and good sportsmanship.
• Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations.
• Manage team equipment and uniforms.
• Collaborate with the athletic director on scheduling, budget, and facility use.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes on personal development and college opportunities.
• Adhere to all school policies and codes of conduct.
