Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Florida teaching certificate or valid Department of Education athletic coaching certificate.
• FHSAA certification is required.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification current.
• Florida Driver’s License valid.
• Combination of education, experience, and certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and conduct regular practice sessions.
• Develop and implement game strategies and tactics.
• Teach fundamental skills, techniques, and sports rules to student-athletes.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and school trips.
• Monitor academic progress and balance athletics with academics.
• Promote discipline, responsibility, and good sportsmanship.
• Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations.
• Collaborate with the athletic director on scheduling, budget, and facility use.
• Maintain open communication with parents/guardians.
• Provide mentorship and guidance on personal development and college opportunities.
• Enforce school policies and codes of conduct.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
