Job summary

Cherry Creek School District is seeking an Assistant Baseball Coach at the high school level to develop players’ skills, strategy, and athletic discipline in alignment with district goals. The role reports to the head coach and athletic director and involves practice planning, game preparation, equipment management, and ensuring student athletes meet clearance, attendance, and academic requirements.

Qualifications

• Assist with the organization and developing the high school program.
• Basic knowledge of baseball.
• Possess or has the ability to acquire a valid Colorado Coaching Certificate.
• Pass CHSAA coaches test, acquire CHSSA coaching registration and complete a concussion course per State Legislation and CHSAA By-Laws.
• CPR & AED Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach and supervise all aspects of the program at the high school level.
• Provide information on scores, schedules, sites, discipline concerns and manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Schedule and attend practice sessions; develop and implement training plans.
• Ensure each athlete is cleared from the athletic office to participate.
• Comply with CCSD, Centennial League, and CHSAA rules.
• Monitor athlete’s attendance/behavior/academic status.
• Apply first-aid and CPR skills as needed.
• Recognize concussion signs and remove players accordingly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
