Qualifications

• Holds a valid Kentucky certificate appropriate for the position.
• Holds a valid Emergency Certificate for Substitute Teaching under KY rules.
• Demonstrates high-level musicianship in knowledge and performance.
• Can stimulate student interest and participation in the band program.
• Can assist developing/performing arching band shows for football games and marching contests.
• Communicates effectively with students, faculty, parents and the community.

Responsibilities

• Assist the high school band director in operating the instrumental music program.
• Assist in providing individual and small group instruction.
• Assist in coordinating band-parent organization activities.
• Assist in maintaining standards of pupil behavior during rehearsals and performances.
• Maintain awareness of literature, state/federal law, policies and regulations related to the assignment.
• Ensure all students are under supervision of certified personnel at after-school programs.
• Perform other duties consistent with the position as requested by the supervisor.
