Job summary

The Accelerated Schools in Los Angeles, CA seeks an impactful Assistant Principal to lead instructional practice and coach teachers toward improved student outcomes. Reporting to the Principal, you will participate in staff evaluations, supervision, and data-driven practices while supporting a positive school culture for students, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• California Single Subject credential with English Learners Authorization is required.
• California Administrative Services Credential is required.
• Spanish bilingual is preferred.
• At least three years of classroom teaching experience (five or more years preferred).
• Minimum of 1-2 years site administrator or equivalent experience preferred.
• Experience developing and/or facilitating professional development for educators is preferred.
• Experience in a leadership capacity, e.g., department chairperson or grade-level lead teacher, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead teachers, teacher leaders, and department chairs to improve student outcomes using data-driven cycles and targeted PD.
• Coach, manage, evaluate, and support teachers with feedback and progress tracking.
• Set high achievement standards to help students be college/career-ready.
• Ensure curricula, assessments, and instruction align with California state standards.
• Collaborate with Leadership Team on curriculum, instruction, and assessments in core subjects.
• Design and facilitate professional development for faculty and staff.
• Collect and analyze data to inform school programs and scheduling.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement 21st-century, project-based learning.
• Coordinate CAASPP and share findings to inform instruction.

Education
