Position: High School Assistant Principal

Location: Tacony Academy- High School Campus, Philadelphia, PA

Type: Full Time, Exempt, 12 Months

Position Summary

The Assistant Principal supports the Principal in making instructional decisions, modeling professionalism, and ensuring staff and student success.

Major Responsibilities

• Providing instructional coaching
• Conducting observations and learning walks
• Evaluating staff using the Danielson Framework
• Creating and delivering professional development
• Mentoring new teachers and student teachers
• Participating in school activities and initiatives
• Collaborating on school climate and culture initiatives
• Supervising programs such as summer, Ed Tech, College and Career Readiness, PSSA administration, and supporting counselors and social workers

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Customer service, education/training, technology proficiency
• Instructional skills, psychology, sociology, problem solving, decision making

Technology Skills
