Qualifications

• Candidates must hold a South Carolina principal's certificate at the secondary level.
• A minimum of three years of successful experience in public school education.
• Alternatives to these qualifications may be considered as the Board finds appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Serves as principal in the absence of the regular principal.
• Assists with the preparation of student schedules.
• Cooperates in safety inspections and fire drill activities.
• Assists in evaluations and observations of all personnel within the school.
• Supervises attendance reporting and investigates follow-up actions.
• Assists in preparing teacher and student handbooks.
• Aids in scheduling extra-curricular activities.
• Oversees disciplinary procedures and records actions.
• Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school.
• Performs record keeping as directed by the principal.
• Interacts with students, teachers and parents professionally.
• Works cooperatively and respectfully with others.
• Supervises athletic programs, facility usage, and maintenance program.
• Coordinates emergency preparedness response.
• Prepares disciplinary hearing packets.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
