Job summary

The Specialty RN II at Memorial Healthcare System provides direct patient care in a designated specialty unit in alignment with our standards, policies, and mission. The role collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care, plans and evaluates patient treatment to optimize outcomes, and delegates tasks to staff as needed.

Responsibilities include precepting students, assessing learning needs of patients and families, and delivering education tailored to age, culture, and condition.

Qualifications

• Accredited Nursing program completed.
• Active Florida RN license required.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required; PALS for pediatric areas.
• NRP certification required for NICU; ongoing credential maintenance.
• Oncology/chemotherapy credentials may be required for chemo administration.
• RN Fellowship programs require 1 year of independent practice.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care and support needs.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes.
• Monitors and documents patient condition and delegates care as appropriate.
• Precepts students and new hires; supports learning needs of patients and families.
• Ensures education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
