Job summary

Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA is seeking a Physician Assistant to diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illnesses as part of a healthcare team. The role may involve ordering tests and prescribing, with full patient care management during shifts.

The candidate should be a graduate of an AMA-approved PA program, hold national certification, and maintain BLS certification. Hospital medicine experience is preferred.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team. May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe. Provides care of hospitalized patients and has full control of a patient throughout their entire shift.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)

• Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employment
• National Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S)

• 1-2 years hospital medicine or related experience
