Job summary

Air Liquide in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Gas Plant Production Technician to operate, maintain and troubleshoot the steam methane reformer, CO2 purification, high purity helium and related systems for a semiconductor site.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 6+ years of technical experience, rotating shifts, and strong safety discipline; on-call duties and travel to support other plants may be involved.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Technical Associates degree preferred.
• 6+ years of technical training or operations experience.
• Ability to work extended hours/shift work as business needs dictate.
• Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays to meet shift and on-call requirements.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Knowledge/understanding of instrumentation, rotating equipment and piping systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants (Process Safety Management, EPA regulations, FDA regulations, state/local regulations).
• Knowledge in proper locking out and isolating equipment.
• Ability to use computers—knowledge of Google and Microsoft software.
• Ability to work in a team environment; self-motivated attitude.
• Good verbal/written communication skills to deal with management and customers.
• Forklift, man lift and overhead crane experience preferred.
• Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot steam methane reformer, CO2 purification, high purity helium and related systems.
• Monitor plant systems, respond to alarms and support 24/7 delivery of high purity gas.
• Provide 24-hour on-call support for gas production and delivery systems.
• Assist in equipment operation, repair and startup.
• Prepare and purge various gas and process systems for maintenance.
